The value for money at this place was great, and the room I stayed in was really comfortable and cozy. The location was perfect, with a brewery and cinema just across the hostel, and the Byron Bay markets nearby. The staff at Arts Factory Lodge were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
The morning meal could have been improved with faster service or more attentive staff.

The atmosphere is good. A good choice if you like backpacker-style places but it's definitely not for eveyone. Mainly young people travelling in groups stay there. Contrary to many opinions I didn't find the place 'hippy' at all, it's a typical backpacker hangout, which reminded me of some places in Asia. Good for meeting people, exchanging stories and so on. Really nice location, in a subtropical garden by a lake. And I didn't think it's far away from the town - under 10 minutes' walk...We stayed in a 'luxury' tent, which we really liked (BTW. 'luxury' is an overstatement but we got what we expected: a robust, roomy tent with a double bed). I would definitely recommend this place although only to young (at heart) people who don't expect luxuries

We appreciated location and service. A kitchen available. The hotel was located right by a bus stop. Wonderful base for vacation in Byron Bay.

Some great staff and great food. Friendly and comfortable even if not 5 star.
Cleaners were often unhelpful and seemed to clean at busy times like 7 to 8 in the morning and around 10 at night.

Good location and friendly staff and the place had some good vibes to it - very hippified! Nice and close to the fabled Nimbin which is a defiante High Light :) It's about a 15 min walk in Byron Bay - they have lots of free stuff for those that want to take part too and a bar and restaurant on site too.
The only real down side was the room was like a prison cell. But it was quite comfortable so not really a massive dislike.

my 3rd stay in byron bay. arts factory lodge is a classic: amazing value, beautiful setting by a swamp reserve, and teepees by the water are fantastic. lovely staff, clean bathrooms, and toiletries included. the cafe is great too. a must-stay!
Noisy bar next door at night.

I liked the all women option at the pond side house; all the people staying there were great.
The bathroom at the lakeside house is in serious need of renovations - there's water pretty much leaking everywhere. It could use a good clean as well. No offense! I did enjoy my stay.

Christmas at this lodge was a blast! The atmosphere was vibrant and full of festive cheer. The common areas were beautifully decorated, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The staff went above and beyond to make the holiday special, organizing fun activities and events for the guests. It truly felt like a home away from home. the lodge's location was perfect. It was just a short walk away from the beach, allowing me to enjoy the sun and surf whenever I wanted. Plus, there were plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby, making it convenient to explore and try local delicacies.
There were a few downsides to my stay. One of the disappointing aspects was the cleanliness of the rooms.

The price is way too high, for an extra few dollars you can get a proper room in a motel. The double room looks like someone threw a bed into a cave. Our car was damaged in the car park, it looks like somebody walked over it.
The double room was disgusting, literally a box room without windows with a bed thrown in there

I didn't like the room and didn't like the showers

We absolutely loved our recent stay at Arts Factory Lodge. It's nestled right next to a beautiful nature reserve, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The pool was a definite highlight, providing a refreshing escape from the summer heat. We also enjoyed the abundance of wildlife in the area, truly immersing ourselves in nature. The convenient location made it easy to access the city center by car, with no congestion from this side. The common areas were well-maintained and the room was clean, providing a comfortable stay. The coffee shop offered a wide variety of options, perfect for starting our mornings. we had a great time at Arts Factory Lodge and would highly recommend it.

We had a great time at Arts Factory Lodge. The unique location in the forest and the pond were perfect for relaxing. The pool and games room looked amazing, even though we didn't have a chance to use them. The people at the hostel were friendly and had a really cool, alternative vibe.
